| DESIGN NAME: Hi Running PRIMARY FUNCTION: Retail, Community-arcade INSPIRATION: Inspired by traditional Chinese thought of rooting a Banyan tree in the neighborhood to shade a village and for people to gather under the tree to do story-telling and social gathering. A mimic giant tree in the atrium of the arcade is presented as focal point. Visitors spend time in a parametic atrium under sky light shaded by the tree, the branches also lead people’s focus up to the skylight and back to the atrium where they could rest and meet friends. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Hi Running is a community-shopping arcade for a small town, to accommodate local shops that sells daily needs products. The mall is centered with a skylight atrium, an mimic giant tree done by interior finished roof from entrance lobby grow along circulation edge to the sky light roof. The "leaves" act as shading device, once visitor entre the centre, they would spend time in a parametic atrium under sky light and shaded by the giant tree. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The edge if skylight was assembled by “small cut” of triangles and glass to complete the curve perimeter. TAGS: community shopping RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Spray were used to age-dify metal panel, a few spray and spraying method were testes to achieve the outcome.
