RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main focus in the research was to find a way to cover small and larger areas with hand tufted tiles in wool, which stay in place without having to be glued permanently on the floor. Searching for a very reliable and practical antislip lining to be attached on each rug tile has been the most time-consuming actions many different materials where tried out in the process.
CHALLENGE: The hardest research part was to find a way that each tile has exactly the same size as the rug tiles are hand tufted. This was resolved with the help of the producer. Secondly the search to find a material that was easy to apply as a layer and which had a very strong antislip function.
