| DESIGN NAME: WEI Chair PRIMARY FUNCTION: Abstract shapes INSPIRATION: The design of this leisure chair seat is inspired by abstract geometric triangles. The support of the three legs has a visual sense of stability; low back is more conducive to the waist lean on. It is elegant with the sleek silver-gray stainless steel frame combines and the black leather seat; the pendant seat gives the armchair a breathable finish. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It has a simple and stable shape, for a variety of styles of indoor and outdoor decoration. The leisure chair frame is made of stainless steel and uses CNC milling processing. The seat and the backrest part are made of pure leather and use cutting production. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When sitting on the leisure chair, the pure leather surface and backrest can provide elastic and moderate support, the hands will be on both top sides of the seat, the user can get relaxed and psychological feelings, lower back relieve more pressure on the waist. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design had started in June 2016 in Shenyang, completed in December 2017 in Shenyang, and displayed in June 2018 in the museum of LuXun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The frame of leisure chair use stainless steel material, which is produced by CNC milling or model poured, the surface and backrest use pure leather, which is made by cutter, the metal hanger connects the stainless steel frame and the leather satin seat to achieve the functionality of the seat. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 700 mm x 720 mm x 700 mm, With CNC milling or die casting technology processing stainless steel frame, the use of cutting technology processing sitting face, the use of metal hanger connecting frame and seat backrest will complete the overall production of the chair. TAGS: Stainless steel leisure chair, triangle, modern style, metal hanging pieces, leather RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Applying the triangle to the leisure chair design gives it a stable visual feel and high resistance to compression. The low back design relieves lumbar pressure. The leisure chair has the vibrant shape, the simple material, the concise structure, and the operational production process. CHALLENGE: How to combine the simple and smooth form of the triangle with the shape of the leisure chair, and to reflect the comfort of the functional and the rational use of materials is the design of the biggest challenges encountered, followed by the tensile strength of the sitting surface and the backrest, as well as the connection to the stainless steel frame. NAME: LuXun Academy of Fine Arts PROFILE: The predecessor of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts (LAFA) was the Yanan-based Luxun Arts College (LAC) founded, in 1938, by the pioneering generation of Chinese Revolutionaries including Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. Mao personally handwrote the Motto of LAC: “Strenuousness, Seriousness, Diligence and Modesty”. The college was removed to Northeast China in 1945 and evolved to Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in 1958. |
