DESIGN NAME: Deebot Ozmo 610
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Floor Cleaning Robot
INSPIRATION: Influenced by democratic designing, we hope to design a floor cleaning robot that is affordable and has better cleaning intelligence experience. At the same time, we have discovered that the traditional cleaning habit for hard floors is to sweep before mopping, but no single product in the market was able to meet this requirement. As such, we have developed Deebot OZMO 610.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Compared to traditional robots that clean as random path, the Deebot OZMO 610, an entry level floor cleaning robot with a planning function, is equipped with Smart Move technology and uses a gyroscope sensor to move based on path planning, which effect avoids cleaning omission or repetition. The V shaped rolling brush and suction inlet can be interchangeable as required. A 300ml electronically-controlled water tank is developed for mopping hard floor. Users may control the robot by App.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The machine cleans intelligently after being activated, and returns to its charging dock for charging after completing its task. Users may add water to the reservoir as well as a cleaning rag. The machine automatically identifies rag installation and changes to mop mode. Users may also carry out remote control either via the remote control device or App. Scheduling a cleaning may also be carried out via the App. Users may check the cleaning track and status of the robot on a real-time basis. Users may also change the rolling brush or suction inlet on their own.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project commenced in Suzhou, China, in August 2016 and was completed in August 2017.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Equipped with Smart Move technology, it moves according to the path plan using its gyroscope sensor, and cleans in an S-shaped route. The quality of the machine has been enhanced with the use of IMR technology so that texture and quality maybe rapidly adjusted when faced with multiple sales channels. Non-spray paint is used to increase product texture, while meeting environmental conservation requirements.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Aimed at preventing dust swirls when cleaning, the Deebot project team carried out numerous trials by cleaning stubborn liquid stains, and efficient cleaning of residential floors, from a self-discharge reservoir to a large capacity electronically-controlled reservoir ultimately. At the same time, by testing and studying the relationship between the volume of water discharged and the effect of mopping and cleaning area, the team finally determined that 300ml of water can effectively meet the indoor cleaning requirement of a 120-150 m2 home.
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge we faced this time was to significantly raise the sweep-first-then-mop cleaning effect of the robot, and increase the capacity of the reservoir and achieve excellent operational experience to the greatest extent possible while being able to meet various cleaning requirements.
