RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Having actively participate in the field of leather craft over 38 years, we have observed that few has attempt to combine leather with other materials in artistic expressions, especially using lacquer and leather due to their highly specialized nature that takes years of experience to master. By combining the two fields we created a new art form that appeals to modern art collactors.
CHALLENGE: Cross pollination between leather craft and lacquer, contrast between soft and hard medium, composition and integration. Both materials are unforgiving, making every step of the process is a challenge. Even greater obstacle is to capture the abstract feminine qualities in a physical object, all the while maintaining the integrity of the literary inspiration.
