| DESIGN NAME: Rustic Elegance Avadh Heliconia PRIMARY FUNCTION: Club House Landscaping INSPIRATION: This project is developed in a place called Vapi in the state of Gujrat, India. Gujarat is blessed with enculturation; a culture shared with members of the society and passed on from one generation to the next. Enculturation has united people with common experience and influence that lead to knowledge and appreciation of cultural traditions and lifestyles. Understanding this, the entire area has been designed to reflect Indian Traditions. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design of the entire project speaks and reflects the aura of cultural heritage. The design elements which are native to Gujarat, like step well, have been used in the planning of this vast landscape. The entrance of the club house has been ornamented with a stone carved fountain which majestically welcomes all the guests. The entire landscape is designed in a way to elevate the beauty of the club house. Every step taken in this area, makes one feel connected to the Indian culture. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The fountain placed at the entrance has been shaped in the form of a lantern which depicts Indian culture of welcoming guests with lights and water for washing down the negativity before entering the club house. The use of locally available materials along with skilled craftsmanship has resulted in creating a fabulous setting. The clients desire to create a royal ambience with the use of traditional elements has been fulfilled through this design solution which gives the project an earthen feel. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Today we are all well aware that use of machines has been of prime importance for creating zero error designs in less time. But in support of honourable Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India; the decisions of using locally available materials and generate direct and indirect employment for Indian workforce was made. Red Agra stone which is found near Gujrat has been used to carve the sculptures. The Indian handicraft industry has been put to use to its fullest. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The entire landscape area is spread in 30,350 sq.m TAGS: heritage, folklore, grandeur, opulence, earthen RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The architecture and structures which are prevalent in the surrounding area has been studied thoroughly. The step well structure is analysed carefully and has been used in designing the area where the swimming pool is placed. The area has been scrutinised to understand its topography, which helped the designing of the landscape. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge with this project was that it was a water logged area. Therefore a well crafted methodology had to be planned to ensure water flows out of the property. The entire landscape revolved around this fact. The road has been lifted up to act as a drain.
