| DESIGN NAME: Origin Design PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential INSPIRATION: The host and hostess prefer Yuppie and simple lifestyle. Actually, simplicity is the ultimate elegance. By displaying the raw material and clean line design, it creates a cozy space where users can savor the moment in their life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The aesthetic image of the space is impelled to fashion and nature, using simple lines to shape the spatial mass and giving new meaning and taste to the material. Different marble is allocated to the wall and floor of each space, fully displaying the ink-wash painting effect and the natural meridian of color flows of original stone. Only minimum decoration is applied to bring out the fashion taste of natural style, so that the material naturally shedding the original surficial texture, presenting the personality and taste of the dweller's life through texture and styling design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Because the only residents are a couple, to create space with openness, the designer combines kitchen, living room and study room to create a space where family members can feel free to communicate. Use a gray glass door instead of a traditional door to separate the private and public area to avoid interrupting the continuity of the space. The design not only adds a sense of privacy but also creates the transparency. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in October 2017 in Taipei, Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In order to reveal the feature of raw material, we apply a large number of natural elements such as marble, stone, leather, glass, metal and etc. Select gray or achromatic color in the open spaces to reduce the impact on vision. The leather covering of the room and the dressing room creates visually riches within the light. With the inlay titanium, it produces sparking and brilliant fashion atmosphere. Because they used to live in the mountains, it evokes a deep nostalgia for their previous home. They look for a quiet place in a busy city. Thus, the design places great emphasis on arousing the mental quietness in the spaces by means of softening emotions. CHALLENGE: The host and hostess not only care the dressing room storage but also expect to own a fancy space for dressing, which builds up a sense of Haute couture atmosphere. Hence, in order to take both practical purpose and aesthetic concept into consideration, the designer selects a wardrobe with red leather covering, which creates elegant texture background when the owners dressing themselves.
