| DESIGN NAME: IsoFit PRIMARY FUNCTION: Custom Helmet Fit System INSPIRATION: Our company is passionate about helmet design and innovation. We are avid sports enthusiasts who wear helmets regularly. Unhappy with conventional ring-style helmet tensioner systems, we designed IsoFit to provide users with the best helmet fit experience possible. We teamed up with Boa Technology and exclusively utilized their signature dial and lace components to power the IsoFit system. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: IsoFit is the balanced approach to helmet fitting. The first hemispherical micro-adjustment liner system that conforms to any head shape. The adjustment tension is equally distributed evenly around the entire head for a very comfortable, custom fit. Available to OEM helmet brands to implement technology in production helmet versions. Tested in cycle, military, and hockey helmets. Major bicycle helmet brand releasing IsoFit equipped helmets in 2019. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With one turn of the dial, the helmet liner system conforms to any head shape. The current ring style tension systems apply concentrated pressure points to the forehead and neck. IsoFit is different, the pressure points are evenly distributed around the entire head for a very comfortable, form fit. No concentrated pressure points. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The development project started in May 2015. Over 12 IsoFit designs have been tested by Boa Technology, OEM helmet brands, and end users. A major breakthrough in design, function, and manufacturability in June 2017. Formal product release to OEM helmet brands in November 2017. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: IsoFit systems are designed around specific OEM helmet designs. Not a one-size-fits-all system. Helmet Comp provides design and engineer services to helmet brands, and licenses IP for production releases. Helmet Comp also provides sales, technical support and customer service.
