| DESIGN NAME: Eros PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sofa INSPIRATION: The roundness of the human body and its sensual forms, was the inspiration for this comfortable singular piece of art. Every detail was thought in order to give commodity, ample space and sensuality, in order to project a sensation of comfort and excitement. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This sofa is gifted with incredible commodity, used on unimaginable amount of relaxed positions to be able to enjoy the sensuality of this furniture, which emulates the forms and nature of the human body. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The angle of the back and the design of the seat, with several layers of polyfoam of high technology, assures the big comfort although it looks surprisingly slender, that joined with the fluidity of its forms, add an inspiring experience. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The structure designed to resist on solid wood, with joints of great accuracy permit that the sofa seems to be floating on the space, although it can resist its daily use for many years. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Red oak multiplywood and solid wood, laminated solid glass. TAGS: Sofa, Organic, Ergonomics RESEARCH ABSTRACT: From several hand drawings of several parts of the body, were extracted the lines and silhouettes that gave the form to this piece of art in order that it can inspire sensuality and warmth in a modern and all-time interpretation. CHALLENGE: It was necessary to design a wooden structure with metallic reinforces to give the strength needed for a long wooden structure with apparently few places to give the support, which is what gives the visual slender lightness and that erotic stylish. As a multifaceted artist, he has a highly sophisticated vision in regards to what makes a piece of furniture special. His designs are made with pure, organic shapes, sometimes elemental but always evoking lavish experiences and associations. |
