PRIMARY FUNCTION: Art Pavilion

Hong Kongers were famous for non-stop busy living, yet they couldn't live an enjoyable life. The work reflects and rethink the idea of living, and the quality of living, by allowing people to hold their steps, lie down and feel their breaths reacting with the wind.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: PLAYOHO Art Pavilion comprises of 28 nos. of circular rings on columns with different materials and characters which moves in wind and cast shadows on ground. It creates a free public space for citizens to stop their hectic pace, stay, and hang around freely. Appreciating the skylight and wind. It encourages the public to slow down and rest on the lawn and have a moment of free play, or doing nothing practically but watching the wind move the rings.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: -
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is built as a public art pavilion for Yoho Mall, Sun Hung Kai Properties in June 2017 at Yuen Long, Hong Kong.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The steel structures were prefabricated in factory and preinstallation.
Onsite ground excavation for foundation and the setup were completed within 7 days.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 21meter wide x 12meter deep x 3.5m tall
Steel structural rings with variable colored shading & lighting systems, with rotary disc. Shadows are made by our specific solar system which changes according to weather. Temperature is lowered by 4 degrees celcius but the atmostphere is enlightened to high emotions for visitors to stay underneath

CHALLENGE: It poses a challenge to the construction team to work out all 36 columns in strict vertical level to fit to the specific design rims at top.
