| DESIGN NAME: BURLINGTON HOTEL PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel Interior INSPIRATION: The key design parameters incorporate bold, stylish and timeless elements, with a natural palette of color combined with limited highlight elements. The natural essentials of sand, elegant folds, layering and flowing fabrics have been combined with details of bespoke stitching and combination of linearity and curvature, it offers a combination of comfort, warmth, and convenience to guests making every stay a unique experience. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Burlington Hotel is a new, luxury boutique hotel, located in Wanchai of HongKong, one of the busiest commercial areas. The design theme incorporates natural elements: "sand" in a creative and contemporary manner, a true mélange of natural and hospitality brought together to establish an environment of comfort and calm, a true retreat from the hot hustle bustle of the city on the doorstep. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2013 in Hong Kong and finished in January 2017 in Hong Kong FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Dark & light colors of wood veneer have been used in most areas but the simplicity of the spaces, emphasis on the external views and quality of light, together with the bronze stainless steel highlight, popup fabric finishes, create relaxing and comfortable areas and guestrooms. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The hotel offers 175 guestrooms over twenty-eight floors, with a varied mix of studios, twins, and double bedroom, from 9 to 12s.m. The lobby and reception lounge are on the ground floors. TAGS: Hospitality RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: The hotel is designed using the natural of sand concept, similar to the public areas and incorporate pop-up fabrics along with fabric wrapped and stitched furniture. They are designed to maximize the space and natural light, all design elements just happened inside the 10 s.m. space, with comfortable mixing.
