PRIMARY FUNCTION: Fuel Can
INSPIRATION: We wanted to achieve the same effect for running fluid outside of can as the water behaves during running out of the garden pipe. Clean and controlled empty process with automatical air pressure balancing inside the can. Styling shape is inspired by house (building) silhouette as a symbol for domestic product ( home improvement, garden work, etc).
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Anti-Gargling Technology. Smooth empty and smooth air pressure balancing without uncontrolled spilling effect. Fuel cans are built in three types of capacity 5L, 10L, 20L. Each of those needs a special funnel to work well. Thanks to this part air can come inside and fluid runs outside naturally and rapidly.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This ordinarily used product is designed in simple and very intuitive form. Plastic fuel can represents low-cost product with high technology function. A user is able to fill and spill the fluid very smoothly and fast. Thanks to unique dual funnel we can make balance the air pressure inside when the petrol is coming into car fuel tank for example.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2016 in Czechia and finished in September 2017 in Czechia.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Made by company which is specialized in designing and manufacturing unique moulded and injected plastic products. Plastic cans are made of HDPE material.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: The main goal was to create unique technology how to fill and empty can without ordinary issues like gargling and uncontrolled spilling. Another strong point of development was to eliminate dimensions and weight of construction and keep new original styling. The final goal for whole design process was the elimination of parts number to a minimum. Each of 3 parts is made thanks to simple double mold forms.
