| DESIGN NAME: The wings of imagination PRIMARY FUNCTION: Earring Jewel INSPIRATION: This Artwork inspired by birds wings in abstract form. According to science of semiotics, a jewelry works as a media so that transmits a message. The message behind this jewelry is "the liberation of mind and imagination". In abstract form, two earrings pended in two sides of the head,reminds the idea of the wings of the flying mind. In addition, traditionally,Turquo UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The wings of imagination earring deeply rooted in Persian "philosophy of Illumination". By this design, the designer emphasized on the concept of "Imagination&qu OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: An earring is a piece of jewellery attached to the ear via a piercing in the earlobe or another external part of the ear. "Imagination Earring" categorized in "Everyday Jewelry" and worn by women as earring and necklace. The message it transmits is inherently supported by the concept of "Imagination&qu PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2017 in Tehran and finished in September 2017 in Tehran. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The first jewel prototype has been produced totally handmade, then has been developed at the computer and produced again with handmade technic.Production process included: Rolling work, sawing, welding, Soldering, polishing, stone setting. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Base metal: silver ,Nishapour Turquoise stone , Dimension: earring top plate: 33mm x 25mm x 4mm TAGS: jewelry ,wings ,earring ,handcrafted ,imagination ,persian ,semiotics ,Illumination RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In this project, I made a free research in the field of "Persian Illumination Philosophy" to prepare design specifications. In this respect, the main concept defined by this philosophical school is the factor of "Absolute Order". Absolute Order factor appeared under the geometrical rule which is embedded in Turquoise Stone as a design element. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to embed the message of Imagination behind the triangular elements of the earring and necklace. The semiotics of this design followed by Illumination school in Persian philosophy. Also the modern look of the design alongside of the traditional conception was an importance in my design process.
