RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research and inspiration came from various sources such as films, art, photography, traveling, music, fabrics and different textures and materials. The objective of the research was to be able to represent the feeling of the specific theme seen through the eyes of the designer as most accurately as possible.
CHALLENGE: Working with specific themes and inspirations can occasionally bring challenges. The stories behind the inspiration make the collection come alive, however it is important to bring subtlety to the designs and represent the themes without overdoing it. The intent of the clothes is to take customers through specific themes, but it is essential the graphics (embroideries) are not too obvious. The idea behind this challenge was to research fabrics, shapes and details, which when combined with the embroideries could evoke directly the idea behind the story. This way the graphics are straightforward, but can bring delicate details rather than becoming the focal point of the designs.
