| DESIGN NAME: Rose Sofia Light Installation PRIMARY FUNCTION: Light Installation INSPIRATION: The inspiration for the Rose Sofia Light Installation was to create a symbol with a closely linked relationship between past and present,beauty and aesthetic,between one of the most beautiful flowers in the world, the rose, and the monumental architecture of the past century with its style , clear tectonics and attention to detail. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The light installation was designed for a social club/bar&diner situated in the old central part of Sofia in a building with the authentic architectural style of the time. With the building owners also being the Bulgarian Rose laboratory, it seemed that a rose symbol would be perfect.The main idea was the symbolism of the light installation be depicted as a rose in an amazing, intelligible and memorable way,which has to be in proportion with the dimensions and parameters of the build. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2014 in Sofia and finished in March 2015 in Sofia,Bulgaria. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: opal acrylics, LED SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The light installation was designed in correlation to the dimensions and proportions which the interior of Rose Sofia has.Every installation component/ rose measures -1100 mm high , 1100mm diameter and its LED lighting is created to be controlled and worked with a computer program. NAME: Rose Sofia Light Installation PROFILE: Found in one of most popular places in Sofia, Bulgaria, the old central part in the city in a building with a perfect combination of architecture and style from the past century.At the front door, we enter into another dimension. Rose Sofia occupies the former territory of Bulgarian Rose on Ivan Vazov Str - it's a place with high ceilings and a remarkable interior. The authentic appearance of the building is preserved outside, and inside the rooms are cozy, calm and arranged with taste. The air is filled with soft music and aromas, which bears a shadow of the previous life of the place. When you want to relax, get away from the city, and then jump back in to it.The idea is to be a place for a cocktail party on Friday evening and a business lunch during the week. |
