PRIMARY FUNCTION: Packaging Design
INSPIRATION: Debrief (Packaging):
Design a limited edition system of products (bottle and its packaging) to hold Carpos(R) evoo. The main market is Switzerland where the company is also based in.
Inspiration:
Firstly, the organic form is derived from olive tree trunks.
Secondly, the bond between mother and child on a summer day in Greece has always been an inspiration.

In your hands you hold one of the exclusively designed and handcrafted bottles of CARPOS(R) limited production extra virgin olive oil. 750 olive trees in the mountains of Rhodope, Greece have been meticulously preserved throughout the year. The olives of the Halkidiki cultivar were carefully hand-picked on October 25th. Only a few hours after the harvest, this oil was cold extracted at 25.5C.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The user can feel the experience in more than one senses. Textures play a cardinal role in this project. The inspirations are firstly the olive tree trunk as well as the bond between mother and child on a warm summer day in Greece.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The brief was given mid October 2016. The official launch took place end of May 2017.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Bottle:
Numerous clay prototypes were formed based on the initial sketches in order to shape the final one. Then the mould was constructed and 250 limited bottles saw the light of day.

Fifteen (15) layers of recycled and recyclable kraft paper with no added adhesives.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: A thorough market research was conducted in order to frame the Swiss market, the opportunities, the competitors and the target users. Personas played also a cardinal role to the process. Scenarios were formed based on the guidelines and constraints in order to provide better solutions. Moodboards were created to better express the ethos of the company. Many hours were also dedicated into prototyping phase for all parts of the system.
CHALLENGE: This project brought together individuals from three different countries with time difference. However, with proper planning and professionalism the matter was addressed drastically.
