DESIGN NAME: Sun Tile Lighting Concept
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Decorative Lighting Solution
INSPIRATION: The Sun Tile design, inspired by an 19Th century tile facade building that exists in Lisbon with bidimensional circular graphics, now gave rise to a tridimensional interpretation of anthropomorphic character, through the asymmetric development of a smooth spherical surface. From this dialogue, emerged the Tile Lighting concept, coated with the author tile Sun founded by one of the essential aspects of ceramics, such as, their appetite to capture and spread the light through a glass surface.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Tile Lighting concept, born from a Portuguese traditional element, the Tile, is mostly associated with the coating of interior and exterior surfaces in architecture as a decorative element.
Tower, Horizon and Level models are designed as interior lighting elements, either by its vertical positioning (Tower), by suspension (Horizon) or even by the possibility of fixing it to the wall (Level). Inside, the latest led technology, allows a strict control of the light source in any environment.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The latest led technology, equiped with dimmer and optional control via bluetooth, allows a strict control of the light source making possible to the indoor direct lighting free standing device adapt to any indoor environment.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: February 2015 to March 2016
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Lighting Products and Fixtures Design
|
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Sun Tile is technologically obtained by filling a mold with a combination of kaolin, sand and silica whose proportionality, baking time and temperature, makes possible to achieve the desired plasticity. Inside, the latest led technology, equiped with dimmer and optional control via bluetooth, allows a strict control of the light source making possible to the indoor direct lighting free standing device adapt to any environment.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Tower - 150 mm x 57 mm x 1668 mm
Horizon - 1208 mm x 36.5 mm x 150 mm
Level - 150 mm x 46 mm x 150 mm
150 mm x 46 mm x 300 mm
