DESIGN NAME: The Ocean
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chapel
INSPIRATION: The idea of a space that functions as a wedding hall to spend an extraordinary moment for once in a lifetime is materialized in a space that gives a feeling of 'buoyancy', free from "gravity".
Because it was designed in such a way that we may feel as if we stand at the bottom of the ocean, when we look up, there is an illusion of being sucked up to the surface of the sea.
Ocean is the overall theme of this place.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is based on the port and the sea in Yokohama, Japan.
It is a project of a different dimension, with a combination of the history and the future, giving a mixed sense of familiarity and futuristic atmosphere
It is not a common wedding hall, but a space with a free design that is not confined by strict traditions, that was constructed for the many non-religious people in Japan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Acrylic balls represent water bubbles, the floor is covered with white and sparkling fine stones that represent the sand at the bottom of the sea.
The space expresses a sensation of being inside the ocean with the walls made from wooden materials with light brown color, with curved lines that provide a sense of the sea movement.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: Decorations that give a narrowing sense towards the ceiling together with ornaments and lightings that mimic water bubbles, enhance the feeling of being at the bottom of the ocean.
In addition, we used the liquid features by drawing curved lines through the wall.
The challenge was to build a terrestrial space that can give a feeling of being underwater, a space that provides a beautiful feeling of buoyancy.
