DESIGN NAME: Reflections
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring
INSPIRATION: Each person is made out from the same "base design", we all have one head, two eyes, one nose, ... but, everyone looks different because of the different colors of skin, hair, eyes, ... or because of the different details of the shape that makes the difference. Jewellery is for me that detail of the look of a person, that makes the look more personal, so I transferred the uniqueness properties of people, to that object that emphasize peoples look.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The reflections are created by the shape of the ring itself and of the unique signs that mark its surface. This ring is part of a collection, in which each ring is made with the same base shape, but, being done by hand, they will never be perfectly the same. The signs, instead, are designed differently for each collection piece, those are the characters that make everything unique.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Wearing a colorless light reflecting piece of jewellery is interesting because everywhere we wear it there are different lights and colors around you, and those make the piece unique to look in each moment. So it is important for for the piece to have a wearer to complete his aspect.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2014 and finished in may 2014 in Rome, Italy.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The most important thing, developing this design, was the concept standing behind. I considered that we live in a world, where we use more and more industrial produced items, and diversities between clothing, phones, objects we have are going to be less. So I thought about something that is at once the same for everyone, in this case the base shape; and it is different for each one, because of the diversification done by being handmade, by the personalized signs they have, and by the surrounding environment.
