| DESIGN NAME: CACTO PRIMARY FUNCTION: Clothes rack INSPIRATION: Where there is drought there is also beauty, and it was from there that the studio was inspired to create the Cactus. After all, the studio's greatest inspiration, the master Luiz Gonzaga, was already saying, "Mandacaru when 'blazing' in the drought ...". A design accessory that intrigues, delivers robustness in its shape and traces in a playful way the dry scenery of the Northeast. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Iconic design with functional piece of decoration. Cacto was made to fullfill the space with irreverence and humor. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: the project started in july 2016 in Natal and finished in October 2016 in São Paulo, and was exhibited in Fuori Salone 2016, at BRAZIL SA and Private Exhibition 2016. NAME: Mula Preta PROFILE: Mula Preta is a product design studio based in Natal/Brazil. It was founded in 2012 by the architect Felipe Bezerra and the designer André Gurgel. The name is inspired on a famous song that represents Brazilian Northeast’s culture, one of the keys of their design expressions. They were invited to participate in exhibitions in China, Paris and Milan, where were rewarded several awards. |
