DESIGN NAME: Hoffmann & Novague R200
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Super Sport Car
INSPIRATION: The R200 of H&N found an inspiration in the Skoda 130 RS, the only true Czechoslovak legendary car. H&N had a basic idea in mind – to be innovative, but to preserve all the important and characteristic elements of the original body. H&N needed to find the optimum level of retro features and contemporary style so that a body with a distinctive design could be created. Designers of H&N sought their own design language, their own proportions and also a certain gap in the contemporary car market.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: H&N have developed a completely new all-aluminium body for HN R200 project. This is complemented by a number of carbon-fibre composite features. H&N have paid great attention to every detail to ensure a harmonious whole is created with top-notch production methods. The distinctive design is built using uncompromising sports forms. H&N goal was to create an automobile as a gem and a product, which is without a successor, which is simply to be unique.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: H&N knew that without a good dose of energy and a proverbial smattering of wild furious beauty, the body’s aesthetics is only half complete. As such, H&N used a high quality chassis, all-aluminium support frame, and in particular an eight-cylinder Audi R8 engine as the technical basis for building the HN R200. H&N chose a two-seater coupé model, with an overall concept of a classic supercar with the engine located between the two axles. The HN R200 vehicle thus represents a true original added to in a modular fashion with a number of features of standard mass-produced vehicles in order to achieve an overall harmony.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: H&N company’s first vehicle must be exceptional, quite simply authentic and with traits and features which emanate its originality and underscore its genuine nature. But H&N wanted to go much further; H&N yearned for something extra, and this we defined as a smartly wrought original linked back to history. And on top of all that, something which could be put together in modular fashion, as their original idea was that H&N would design and manufacture most cars ourselves using just a few mass-produced parts.
