| DESIGN NAME: Cobweb PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table INSPIRATION: When we think about table, most of the time we are looking for massive structure for standing and keeping but I tried to change this balance through inspiring of the nature like the spider web that can bear heavy insects in comparison to the light structure. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Actually it is so artistic table which creates amazing spaces because of the special geometry and texture. As seen in table, it has an empty space under the glassy plate that is possible to put candles and flowers which lead to reflect the texture with artistic way particularly at night. I combined the wood or metal, leather and glass for designing of this table. In addition, this table can design with more arches and it depends on the situation which leads to modify the size of it for more people. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This Cobweb structure gives this table its energy and aesthetic. This design can be used for both exterior and interior spaces. In luxurious design, gold, golden leather and glass are the main materials of this table. In economic design, wood, metal and glass are the special materials. Therefore, it is possible to use in different spaces and lifestyles. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was designed just one week in March 2017 in Iran, Noshahr and i hope to realize it in near future. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Actually, it is a concept that i used Rhino and 3dmax as technical instruments, recommended materials for this concept is oak wood, glass or golden metal and glass. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This table concept has the width of 64 cm and 32 cm in height but it is possible to modify it depends on the different situations. TAGS: Biomimicry, Architecture, Sustainability, Aesthetic, Convinience RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main research is concentrated to create a relationship between nature and furniture through mimicking the spider such as shape and pattern.Following the nature as a main source of my concept leads to design more adaptable form and function . CHALLENGE: Due to its light structural shape like the real cobweb, the difficulty was about creating balance between the light and heavy structures. In other word, I inspired form cobweb to create this table through network system which leads to create this unique form.
