| DESIGN NAME: Petal PRIMARY FUNCTION: Seats INSPIRATION: This seat is inspired by the petals, so I applied it to the design of the seat. Using newspapers to make petals. And cured it with the transparent resin material. Finally, we got the seat that looks like a flower in the transparent crystal. Newspaper records our daily life, it seems to be the "history books" of our life. Using the old newspaper to produce petals, not only save the resources, but also make the seat more humanistic. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The seat is made of transparent resin and scrap newspaper. Using the newspaper to make the main structure of the seat. It's the innovation of the materials and the production process. In addition, the newspaper structure is also a part of the mold of this seat, so we can use a simple mold to complete the seat. It reduces the difficulty of product production, and reduce the production costs. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The size of this seat conforms to ergonomics. It can not only meet people's needs for comfort, but also meet the aesthetic needs of them. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Cutting the newspaper and bending it into the petal shape. Making the mold, and putting the newspaper structure into, then Pouring the transparent resin into the mold layer by layer, finally, waiting for the resin curing. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: DIMENSIONS: 30mm x 300mm x 450mm TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:mold TAGS: Transparent resin, newspaper, petal, experimental material, innovation RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Using common material to make innovative design, and giving furniture design more meaning and possibility. CHALLENGE: There are many failures in the curing ratio of transparent resin materials. Finally, it has been successful through several experiments and improvements.
