| DESIGN NAME: Flip PRIMARY FUNCTION: 2 in 1 Salt and Pepper Shaker INSPIRATION: Inspired by the simplicity of classic shakers, this two in one shaker uses no mechanisms to switch between one seasoning to the other. The user simply flips to the other side and shakes. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: An unexpected and clever salt & pepper shaker. Combining the 2-step food seasoning process into one easy and intuitive step; just flip to use the other side. The shaker is designed for simplicity in manufacturing and use. Its unique design provides a one-handed operation without the need for mechanisms, making it intuitive, durable and easy to clean. It’s like a traditional shaker, but better. A multi-functional stand also serves as a funnel to help refill the shaker and avoid any mess. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In terms of functionality, it makes seasoning easier. On the other hand, aesthetic wise, it certainly creates a certain twist to the dinning table. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: this product is timeless ans suitable for any location where food is present. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Wood and plastic SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Base: 24 X 6.5 X 1.3 cm Shaker: 23.5 cm in length, radius of 2 cm TAGS: shaker, salt, pepper, seasoning, food, meal RESEARCH ABSTRACT: the design may look very simple, yet it went through various development till it reached to this easy, simple, and functional design. in terms of ergonomics, lots of development happened till we reached the perfect shape and size so it can be comfortable for most of hand sizes. On the other end, the size and angle of the holes has been altered several times till if finally produced no mess around as you flip the shaker with your fingers. CHALLENGE: Keeping the design simple for manufacturing and easy to follow to use.
