DESIGN DETAILS |
DESIGN NAME: Museum of Time
PRIMARY FUNCTION: 3D animation
INSPIRATION: The general inspiration for this short film was the Rijksmuseum. This amazing, historic place with many different art forms helped me to picture the future project,to transmit all of its magic as if time comes to a halt in its place. For watch designs I have used interesting paintings, including Italian Landscape with Girl Milking a Goat by Karel Dujardin, and other artists such as Pieter Withoos and Hendrick Avercamp. Also visible in my film are the works of other artists whose pictures are on display at the museum at this moment
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This short movie was imagined from the very beginning as a 3D animation using multiple softwares. The main idea was to show the interaction of modern items such as a watch with an historic place,to show how new design is born from old arts, finding continuation in the contemporary human story of the object. One of the primary ideas was to create light from white to dark color for more interesting effects. The main object as a butterfly is an existing character of artist Pieter Withoos.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The most interesting partfor viewers always will be the 3D animation. For many people this technology is the most interesting and looks very difficult, making the movie more interesting to watch. This is the one of main reasons why this project exists in 3D format. It was also very interesting to work on,especially the most complicated scenes. It was very good experience.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2016 and finished in February 2017
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Movie, Video and Animation Design
|
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For this project was used a combination of softwares such as 3D program, the Adobe package and Realflow, for natural effects of magic liquid. In addition, photographs helped create the space of the museum interior.Twelve high quality photos under differing angles of perspective were used for creating a 3D space of the museum, using only the 2D effect of photos.Apart from this, differing scenes were created with cameras within the 3D spaces for each scene of the movie.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The main software for creating all scenes was a 3D program. The all movie was recorded on separate frames and afterward, during post production and additional software was used for adding more details at the scenes.Full HD resolution, duration 35 sec.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main aim of this project was to create an unusual idea and to show how it can work having the interaction of a classic museum and modern item, that people can find inspiration at this through their imagination, how the old pictures and single characters can come to life, how people will never forget about art if these things will be with them during all their days.Time has stopped, but at the same time continues to move.
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge of this project was creating the liquid. This is the one of the most difficult and time consuming aspects of completing the movie. And of course the render, without which it is impossible to create even a single 3D animation.

This creative work is an excellent example of how the old and the new can be blended together in a unique and captivating way. By combining 3D animation, multiple softwares and photographs, the artist has crafted a mesmerizing story that celebrates the relationship between modern items and historic places. The use of light from white to dark color creates a dynamic atmosphere and the integration of existing characters from Pieter Withoos adds an extra layer of depth to the animation. This work is truly a remarkable piece of art.
