| DESIGN NAME: Rong PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pattern design INSPIRATION: The inspiration sources the key project Two Cities Grade at the second Shenzhen- Hongkong Design Biennial Exhibition. Hong Kong and Shenzhen source from Chinese culture system and there are many same spiritual believes in both regions. We found and selected the spiritual and hopeful indications of both cities-roc and Wingdramon and combine the city flowers of both cities-Bougainvillea of Shenzhen and Chinese redbud of Hong Kong by means of crossing to anew deduce a square and continuous image. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In order to response the subject of the second Shenzhen- Hongkong Design Biennial Exhibition Interaction Twin Cities, 1983ASIA designed a group of images with the invitation. It hopes to bring the Chinese traditional culture of Shenzhen and Hong Kong to the daily life by using modern design aesthetic so as to express the core concept of two cities’ grade. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We consider the whole design as a container which can carry the spirit culture of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. In terms of composition, we deconstructed the pattern representing flower seeds and animals in the two places in the form of cross combination with the modern design method into the quadrilateral continuous Yin and Yang pattern. In the plane pattern, the concept of interaction between both parties is expressed. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 2016 in HongKong China |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We redrew and designed the pattern representing the two places in the form of cross combination into the quadrilateral continuous pattern. Because the images of symbols of the two places are too fixed, we improved the part of freehand sketching, scanned into the computer, and deconstructed and designed through AI, PS and other software, so that more people could understand the Chinese cultural system behind Shenzhen and Hong Kong through vision. NAME: 1983ASIA PROFILE: It comes from a faith. 1983 ASIA is co-founded by Su SU (Tianjin, China) and YAO (Malaysia) in Shenzhen China.We are very glad that we were guided by K&L. After years of experience of handling projects, we made several brands also achieve ourselves.However, after the joy come again and again, it left us endless thought. We grew up in Asia which was measured by western culture. In this case, the identity of Asian is getting vague.We used to let the treasure of us go, but we have to learn how to reunite the world. The cultural convergence left us regret for globalization and internationalization.“Sometimes, traditional Asian culture is a fetter of western.”We are inspired astonishingly that only tracing to the source can solve the inner contradiction. Based on Asian and designer, we tried to break the bound of concepts and used art design to show our experience and achievement through studying Asian culture.Turning invisible culture into glamorous Asian visual product is the lost-for–long happiness that we reach for in the world. |
