| DESIGN NAME: Km31 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional trolley INSPIRATION: After making the Keza, which is dedicated to a single function, I thought that a multifunctional cart with an extendable top was missing. It was the second product derived directly from the Keza, and it therefore began the K Series. With it I decided to build using as many shared components as possible, and named the range the K Series. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The dimensions of the Km31 allow it to run easily in the aisles of restaurants. The top of this cart can be opened out to perform spectacular actions like cutting big fish or poultry, setting crepes alight, or presenting an anniversary dessert. Several carts can also be lined up for a buffet. With these complementary functions available, more possibilities are opened up for the restaurateur’s imagination. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The trolley is easy both to push and to open. Furthermore, both hands must be used at the same time to lower the flaps, making for an inherently safe action. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Km31 is manufactured on a small scale. The structure is made of solid beech, the top is made of waterproof scratch-resistant solid surface. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Overall dimensions W x H x D : 620 x 880 x 620 mm, Extended cheese box W x H x D : 1090 x 880 x 620 mm. Structure : solid beech. Top : Krion. Wrapped in sturdy cardboard and strapped to a pallet. TAGS: Guéridon, chariot de service, restaurant cart, restaurant trolley RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After the Keza, it was clear to me that fine restaurants lacked trolleys with a contemporary design. Since then, I have been very attentive to the needs of the restaurateurs. I began to list every functionality which could be integrated. CHALLENGE: When you are designing furniture, you can have a grueling time trying to find a modeste piece of ironmongery. On this model, it was the reclinable hinge folding support of for the flaps. I finally found it but it looked ugly. I had to order 100 pieces with the special finishing that I needed, before having I got the first order.
