| DESIGN NAME: Shenzhen Seven Star Bay Yacht Club PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel INSPIRATION: After fighting with the sea, reaching the summit of the mountain and conquering the longest road, you can enjoy your freedom and lazy time against the blue sky and blue water in the White Sail Hotel at the Seven-Star Bay Yacht Club, which is embraced by the mountain and the sea. Therefore, our designs focus on how to make guests feel at ease and relaxed after taking exercises. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: With pure space as the backdrop and combining natural elements, we emphasize the truth and beauty of art and highlight the extraordinary display. We take ocean and marine sports as the theme for sculptures, artifacts and hanging pictures, which vitalizes the space with flexibility and freedom and echoes the sporty style of the hotel. The use of bamboo finishes, bamboo lamps, flower arrangement in Zen style, in conformity with the green, creates a touch of leisure and a touch of elegance. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: First of all, we control the rhythm of the entire space by controlling the proportion of different spatial relationship. Secondly, we abandon multifarious elevations, so as to restore the space’s essence in the most concise way. Moreover, through natural and comfortable furniture with the ornament of artwork, it provides guests a clean, pure leisure space where is far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main Materials: white latex paint, bamboo veneer, gray mirror, stone SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Design Scope: interior design, furnishings design, lighting design Area: 7265㎡ TAGS: interior design, furnishings design, lighting design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As the hotel is ancillary hotel for the Seven-Star Bay Yacht club, the client expects to provide the guests a place to prepare before go to the sea and relax afterwards. The client also wishes the space to be related to the yacht sports in designing symbols. Besides, it can also provide the public a place for leisure at the seaside. Being different from the common hotels nearby, it should also bring guests a brand new experience while controlling the overall cost. By controlling the transition and proportion of the spaces, forms a sense of rhythm, and a clean space. At the same time, moderately choose the appropriate furniture and artwork to make people ignore the exterior form and pay more attention to inner feelings brought by the space, thus guests obtain a comfortable experience. CHALLENGE: Limited budget limits the choices for the selection of decorative material. How to control the exterior form moderately yet reach the design goal is the key point we need to consider. We have to analyze different functional spaces’ importance in atmosphere creation and improvement of guests’ experience, and control the cost correspondingly in advance. Due to its unique geographical location, transportation cost of materials and the convenience of construction also have to be taken into consideration.
