| DESIGN NAME: C C Moment PRIMARY FUNCTION: Restaurant INSPIRATION: Candle is the main theme of the design for this Western restaurant, C C Moment. Candle light symbolizes life, warmth, and celebration. We often use a candle to light up other candles, just like how we can light up each other with joy and happiness. Inspired by candlelight in the darkness, black and yellow are used as the main colors of this design. Just as how candlelight can’t shine without darkness, black has made yellow more prominent. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Candle-like lights are placed randomly around the restaurant. Some are installed vertically on the ground to act as screens between tables for higher privacy, some are hung upside down from the ceiling, while some are installed horizontally from the wall; customers can enjoy a meal surrounded by warm candlelight. The floor pattern of the entire restaurant is made up of marble and tile patchworks in different shades of grey, to imitate the flickering shadows of candlelight. There are two function rooms in the restaurant. Loose furniture enable the restaurant to arrange them freely and match the color according to the party theme. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Laminated glass, wire glass, marble, cement sand brick, stainless steel, Formica plastic laminate SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 449 sq. metre TAGS: Interior Design, Candle, Romantic, Light, Warmth RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: It was hard to present the theme of candles without merely placing real candles. It was also challenging to install the candle-like lights, as the candles are 1.5m tall, they must be firmly installed to avoid accidents. Besides, it was difficult to achieve the desired candlelight effect, the light had to be dim enough to imitate candlelight, and bright enough to illuminate the restaurant.
