| DESIGN NAME: Lights across the Tree PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: "What creates the most space, in the meantime of resolving issues about mechanisms, is the value and temperature of life." When the daylight passes through the greenery hedges that unveils the elegant lines in the indoor space, the space with slow pace is extended toward in all directions, the way designer showing his sensitive character. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: At the beginning of this project, preserving most of the original interior design are taken into consideration so that the most delicate and unrestricted design skills both reconnect the relationship between the inner and outer spaces and magnifies the space characteristics after loosening the intense connections among spaces. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The short distance, between buildings, reveals the issue that the privacy in the living room has to be secured. Therefore, an array of hedges with greenery plants are built up on the outdoor area beside the living room. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in March 2016 in Taichung City. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The principle of design is focused on the surrounding landscapes that introduces the natural light in the house from outward, all the way reflecting the client's standards of life aesthetics, so that the professional design skills are applied in connecting the relationship between houses. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 198 square meters TAGS: Residence RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The wall in the living room, therefore, is extended all the way to the outdoor greenery hedges through a large French window, rather than being defined as an indoor boundary. Such design arrangement makes the outdoor hedges become the objects securing privacy when transforming the function of hedge into that of walls in the living room in the meantime, the style connect the inner and outer space from different perspectives. CHALLENGE: The integration of the natural lights in the sky and leather colors represents the rebirth for a new home, in which the medium space, between and living and dining room, is built up with a black-and-white cube storage containing the history of this family. Inspired by the design idea of dual themes, the designer rearranges the sequential elements in the space by using the wall cabinet and stone door frame.
