Modern painting is much more individual and various compared to the classical painting, and cannot be produced without intending matiere in respect of expression and technique, accordingly, Matiere is very significant for the painter and the appreciator. Interest in Matiere has become higher since the modern art, particularly, such effect that Informel painters used to express as a thick wall by mixing sand, etc. or spreading pigment thick on the screen was expressed since the second World War. Informel implies the abstract art of postwar Europe which highly regarded artists' extemporary behavior and passionate expression refusing geometric abstract of pre-war(戰前), and Informel art is a type of abstract that belongs to expressive impulse of artists in its form, precedent thereof could be found in the works of Vasily Kandinsky and Paul Klee, however the actual pioneers were the artists as Jean Fautrier, Bols, and Hans Hartung, who acted based on Paris.
CHALLENGE: Due to toe materials of works, linseed oil and oil painting pigment, etc., used as major components, require a long time to be completely dried, having crack or discoloration as time goes by, accordingly, to complement such weakness, the artist utilized traditional material 'sap of lacquer' which is available for change in drying time with regulation of temperature and humidity. As the result of various attempts and test, quality sap of lacquer increases gloss by achieving a little more solid combination, strong adhesion, and reduction of drying time.
