PRIMARY FUNCTION: Packaging
INSPIRATION: Founded in 1638, Kopke wanted to surprise connoisseurs and collectors in the Port wine category with the presentation of an absolutely exclusive, unique and special packaging, which transmits and reinforces the brand’s position as a luxury brand.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Kopke 375 special edition is exclusive and has a high luxurious packaging. This ultra-limited and numbered edition is only composed by 375 wine bottles, an allusion to the years of this recognised Port wine brand.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each limited package has a certificate proving the age of this precious wine and also confirming that Kopke is actually the oldest Port wine company in the world.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in the beginning of May 2013 in Porto (Portugal) and finished in November.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For this Port wine, the design agency chose finest and quality materials, such as the 'pau-santo'; wood that is used exclusively with ultra matte varnish. The interior is lined in natural, hand sewn national leather and each bottle was also carefully hand finished.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: To mark the 375th Kopke's anniversary, Omdesign created a special edition of 375 bottles of a Porto Colheita 1940 wine, which corresponds to the same year when the company was formally recognised as the oldest Port wine producer, in the oldest demarcated wine region in the world.
CHALLENGE: The entire design and production of this de high luxurious commemorative edition was left in the Portuguese hands, in this case in the creative hands of Omdesign's team.
