DESIGN NAME: Hide and Seek
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence
INSPIRATION: Shape according to the functions, and the functions can be hidden invisibly.
These hidden functional elements made the household usages more smooth and look more pleasant!
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Through the contextual mode technology, there is an integration of audio-visual equipment, lighting and electric curtains. As long as you have a tablet or mobile phone, you could remotely control the change of different scenarios of lightings and atmosphere by pressing a key only.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Massive storage cabinets are hidden into the wall of the entrance, partitions of the dining room and the unilateral aisle where the mirror was put. The entrance of storage room and shared bathroom are hidden within the long walls across the aisle.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in November 2015 in Taichung City, Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: At a corner of the living room, there is a small platform suspended for worshiping the gods by the owner. Moreover, countertops are placed statues of god, and located in the bottom drawer is the incense used for worshiping. A compatible table is also installed which allows a display of offerings when particular festivals or celebrations come

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the restaurant, there are paintings on the walls which hide the television at the back. During dinner, the paintings could create the atmosphere of having a relaxing meal. After dinner, by pushing the paintings, the television appeared which could then start the parent-child shared multimedia teaching time.
CHALLENGE: Inside the kids’ room, pulling a door of the entire wall of cabinets, you can enter the walk-in dressing room which renovated from the half-square-meter convex space built outside the building.
