| DESIGN NAME: Donut PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lounge Chair INSPIRATION: The inspirations is clearly and giant Donut. Everyone was somewhat related to food, and tasted food bring us so many emotions, perhaps the most emotional ones. That was the idea behind Donuts, establish a connection between the user and his emotions. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The studios background is mostly based on humor and satire. SOme of the most commons things could come to life if was seen closely. With Donut wasn't different. A clear message of a giant donut that could keep the edge between humor, design and art. But, not putting aside the environmental issue, was used an old tuck tire camara to fill the foam role. With this aspect, the sustainability and reuse of material was the key element of this project. NAME: MULA PRETA PROFILE: Mula Preta is a product design studio based in Natal/Brazil. It was founded in 2012 by the architect Felipe Bezerra and the designer André Gurgel. The name is inspired on a famous song that represents Brazilian Northeast’s culture, one of the keys of their design expressions. They were invited to participate in exhibitions in China, Paris and Milan, where were rewarded several awards |
