| DESIGN NAME: COQON PRIMARY FUNCTION: Product INSPIRATION: COQON is inspired from a cocoon in nature, which is a safe and protected place. Having COQON in your home continues to keep you and your home protected. The shape of COQON is also inspired from this source following the same curves to create a protective hard shell. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: PSBZ developed the name and the entire corporate and product design for COQON. For this a uniform 3D visual language was created that serves as a guideline for the complete product. COQON is a device which can be used in the home for security. The brand name refers to the product benefits that guarantee a sheltered and safe home. Further aspects of sustainability and ecology are put in focus through this. The corporate design shows a modern and fresh look to consciously reflect the simple usage and exclude potential inhibitions. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: You can simply control COQON on your smartphone or tablet - with the app for iPad, iPhone and Android. Your smart device will be merged with one app and can be easily controlled. Scenarios around your house are easy to build and easy to control from a distance. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 170mm x Depth 170mm x Height 30mm TAGS: product design, branding, security, smart, safe, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: For COQON the research started at the very beginning by a brand being developed as well as a product. The idea of cocooning is the core idea of COQON which follows through the design. You have COQON in your home to protect you. The Q in the logo is represented by a leaf, to give a natural feeling that is easy for people to relate to. The colour of the leaf changes depending on the status of the system, making it simple for people at home to use. CHALLENGE: The focus for COQON was to keep it simple and to avoid any borders. By doing this COQON can fit in with all architectural styles and homes. COQON subsequently is a minimal design with a user friendly interface.
