DESIGN NAME: Lunipse
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting
INSPIRATION: The particular shape of the dining table lamp set refers to the phenomenon of lunar eclipse because of the refraction of sunlight by the Earth's atmosphere into the shadow cone. The goal is to bring the moon light to the atmosphere of home.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "Lunipse" is a set of ceiling dining room lamp made by blown glass and ultra scratched steel wrapped on it. These eye-catching glass lampshades with steel cover gives a sense of modernity. Also "Lunipse" provides wider light and better diffusion and illumination.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Sensing the moon light and the phenomenon of lunar eclipse into the atmosphere of home, joining performance and aesthetic beauty together, emotional connection between "Lunipse" and the user.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2015 in Tehran and finished in January 2016 in Tehran.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The base material is blown glass and luminosity part located into glassy bubble are LED lights. Wrapped metal on bubble is ultra scratched steel.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: "Lunipse" is designed with the inspiration of the phenomenon of lunar eclipse and surface of the moon light. A research about the moon and space in conducted conceptually during the structural and emotional design process of the project.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge is to join function and aesthetic beauty in on new concept of surface downlight, bringing the moon light to the atmosphere of home and emotional connection between "Lunipse", the moon and the user.
