DESIGN NAME: Virteasy Dental
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Dental training simulator
INSPIRATION: Virteasy Dental is the fruit of a approach of innovation by the uses. Following the analysis of the uses carried out in dental faculties, I worked on a concept of architecture of product allowing to reproduce the position of work of the dental surgeons. In order to make the training more intuitive and natural I positioned the 3D screen so that the real hands and the virtual action are coordinated. Lastly, I sought to break with all the codes of the sector using the forms and the colors.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: VirTeaSy Dental is a 3D dental surgery training simulator (Implantology, Odontology, ...) and creates the missing link between theory and clinical training. Using last technologies of haptic and virtual reality, this simulator brings improvements in student training as well as in students assessment.
The student use an arm on return of efforts to work on virtual jaws and forms on all dental surgery protocols. It provides an innovative approach to facilitate gesture and diagnosis training.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Virteasy Dental covers training in several disciplines such as implantology, dentistry, endodontics and prosthesis. It provides a very flexible navigation software with the ability to setup user’s environment.
Learning is immersed in a 3D scene and uses an arm on return of efforts to work on virtual jaws and forms on all dental surgery protocols. The teacher can more easily plans the teaching course and the progression of each one.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Desind agency carried out for HRV-Simulation a study of design and global design of a simulator of odontology and dental implantology bound for faculties. After 1 year of study and design, the agency produce the prototype of Virteasy Dental simulator which was revealed at the 2015 Laval Virtual Show. Since HRV already sold its product in England, in Chile, in China, in Saudi Arabia and France.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The simulator is built around a central column containing the hardware and is controlled by two electric lifts which regulate the height of use and the access for data-processing maintenance. Since all the orders being ambidextrous the simulator adapts to all morphologies. Made out of Steel, ABS (doors), or machined and curved PMMA, it is entirely assembled using mechanical fixings, returning its process of manufacturing simple, economic and which can be easily recycled.

CHALLENGE: The design of Virteasy Dental was a true amazing challenge. Start-up HRV had been recently created, so we did not have many financial and human means to create a high technologies product. Without any means of production, we have designed the forefront of technology products, which can be manufactured at the unit and small series. In 1 year, it was distributed in Europe, Asia, Saudi Arabia, Russia and South America.
