| DESIGN NAME: More care PRIMARY FUNCTION: Backup Sanitary Pads/ Tampons INSPIRATION: The purpose of backup sanitary pads/ tampons is to make the user more relieved and at ease. When sanitary pads in your bag are run out, there is at least one at hand for use. So we pack a sanitary pad into an ornament, keyring or decoration with you. When it is really in need, it can work right away. In addition, we suggest that male friends or husbands can considerately bring one to take care of his partner or female friends as well. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Introduction: Do you bring maxi pads with you all the time? There are nowadays a number of retail stores here and there. You can easily get maxi pads in many places. But when you really need one without any store or female friend around you, backup sanitary pads/ tampons can make you unembarrassed and feel at ease. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Materials: ABS shell, plastic film, synthetic leather, keyring What cannot be overemphasized is hygiene. So the container for the backup sanitary pad should be waterproof material. Then we can use plastic film to seal the sanitary pad in the container. To take hygiene into consideration, the container should be disposable and thrown out once after use. There are a variety of sanitary pads and tampons, so the design of the container should be in the shape of rectangle for tampons and in the shape of square for sanitary pads. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: around 50*50 mm thickness: 10mm TAGS: sanitary pads,ladies, sanitary pads RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The idea: Before we design the backup sanitary pad, we face-to-face interview 100 Asian females around 18 to 30 years old for three main questions: 1. Are you used to bringing sanitary pads/tampons with you? 2. Do you get used to estimating your period? 3. Does the period appear regularly in these couple years?The result shows that 1. Over 60% of females are used to bringing sanitary pads with them, but sometimes they may forget if there are still sanitary pads in their bags. 2. Half of those whose periods are not regular will bring sanitary pads with them because their periods do not appear regularly, but some still don’t. From the findings above, we can learn that even though those who bring sanitary pads with them still may forget if there are sanitary pads in their bags. Besides, rather than solving the problem with counting periods, it would be better to remind girls or women to bring sanitary pads all the time for urgency.
