DESIGN NAME: Newmoon
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting
INSPIRATION: The particular shape of the lamp refers to surface of the moon with its cheesy like holes. The goal is to bring the moon light to the atmosphere of home.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Newmoon is a ceiling lamp made by blown glass and small lights are located inside the holes. This eye-catching glass lampshade with its curved hole's edges gives a sense of modernity. These holes of light by its wrapping angle, light up better and wider.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Sensing moon light with its cheesy like holes into the atmosphere of the home, joining performance and aesthetic beauty together, emotional connection between "Newmoon" and the user and also wider light angle provide a better diffusion and illumination.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2015 in Tehran and finished in January 2016 in Tehran.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The base material is blown glass and luminosity part is LED lights with plastic body and frame. LED lights are available in broader range of colors and have longer life time so that i used LEDs in my design.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Newmoon is designed with the inspiration of surface of the moon light with its cheesy like holes. A research about moon and space in conducted conceptually during the structural and emotional design process of the project.
CHALLENGE: Our main concern designing this light fitting was to join function and aesthetic beauty in on new concept of surface downlight. Also, we bring the moon light to the atmosphere of home and also provide emotional connection between "Newmoon" and the user.
