| DESIGN NAME: Marilyn two Seat Sofa PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sofa INSPIRATION: What has inspired me is a dream to combine design and glamour. I want to create furniture with soul, therefore I get my inspirations from exceptional artists endowed with charm and strong personality. My main challenge is to transform meaningless interiors into special places. Where every curve and dash of my pieces will help the user to establish an emotional connection with the surrounding. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Marilyn Monroe and her famous white dress are my inspiration for this design. Her elegance shines throughout the drawing of the feet of this sofa highlighting a special upholstery technique that simulate the movement of the dress. That is what makes this piece so mesmerizing and unique. The Marilyn sofa is a promises way to fulfill your room, with elegance and capture all the glamour and sexiness of the most iconic diva ever. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This sofa is a standout piece which will grab your attention. As demanding as Marilyn, singing "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" its strong presence is the main quality of this product. Moreover the sofa is customizable with different materials to suit the user taste. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We start to sculpt the wood feet and all structure to put the upholstery and then the foam and the fabric are applied on the structure with a special technique. All this process is handmade so it gives an unique feature and personality to each piece. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: DIMENSIONS 1600mm x 780mm x 790mm WEIGHT Aprox 35Kg TAGS: marilyn sofa, sofa, luxury sofa, unique furniture RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I started my research with Marilyn Monroe life story. I consider the moment of the "blowing dress" the perfect frame in time that emphasizes the sexiness, personality and irreverence of this amazing icon of Hollywood history. Then I had to focus my research on methods of production and upholstery techniques that could simulate her dress form. Finally I combined this technique with an elegant feet that transmit all the personality of Marilyn in a daily used home product. CHALLENGE: My main challenge on this project was to capture all the essence, elegance and personality of the amazing Marilyn Monroe in a seducing and comfortable piece.
