| DESIGN NAME: Ethnic Christmas House Residential House PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: This House was designed for a family of four, two adults and 2 children, whom love to travel. We tried to recreate an cosy and harmonious ethnic environment. As this family loves Christmas, instead of a supper we prepared a Christmas brunch which takes place after the traditional opening gifts on Christmas morning UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We were invited by "Cobertura" OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was commissioned in October 2013 and delivered by the end of November 2013. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In this contemporary architectural lines apartment, we created an ethnic environment with a matching concept and project design. We took care of every detail so that this family could spend their Christmas dinner in a magic and cosy atmosphere, with color and a Scandinavian touch. We mainly used materials such as wool, felt, linen, ethnic furniture, metal, velvet, ceramic and glass. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This duplex apartment has 180 m2. Downstairs there are the living and dining room, the kitchen and the the guest bathroom. Upstairs there are 3 rooms with private bathrooms. TAGS: "Ethnic Home" "Christmas Scandinavian Spirit" RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Invited by "Cobertura" CHALLENGE: The design team chalenge was to create an ethnic christmas atmosphere. We basically got inside the true scandinavian christmas spirit in its colors, materials, fabrics as well as its kind of furniture style and christmas decorations. Due to the fact that there were two children to be considered the team payed attention in details to manage a childwood atmosphere. NAME: Atelier Lígia Casanova PROFILE: Lígia Casanova graduated in design in 1987. After acquiring her Master’s Degree in Graphic Design, she worked for Advertising and Design Companies such as Abrinício in Lisbon and Wolf Ollins in London. Eight years later, in 1995, she felt the need to bring some value into people’s lives: Lígia started to work as an Interior Designer. “To make room for happiness” is her moto. The moto she follows in every concept, be aimed at residential or public spaces. |
