DESIGN NAME: LUXURY INDEAAH REDEFINED
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House
INSPIRATION: To identify elements from classical Indian luxury homes and reinterpret their form to suit contemporary living. Came with the classic Indian luxury the ancient techniques of art and craft. Thus emerged the contemporary styling which embraced the Bauhaus approach in design. That allowed us to preserve the past while moving forward in a manner where we can evolve and stay with the times and linked to our culture.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This residential space comprises a unique mélange of reinterpreted elements of Indian Luxury and brands that represent Luxury living internationally. This custom interior space was tailored to suit the needs and taste of the users, and at the same time integrates the indigenous art and craft into the decor. The project can be considered as an experience for the user that showcases Contemporary Indian Luxury.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: To facilitate the preference to buy a unique intangible experiences as opposed to the tendency to buy tangible status things to demonstrate wealth. Establish a custom flow of material experience from weaving the flow of spaces along with and using the detailing to allow the indigenous pieces speak with the modern which lend the uniqueness to the experience created for the client.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2013 and ended in 2015. The project is in India.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Mostly all handmade by skilled artisans and craftsmen. some on site and few offsite.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: A residential space measuring a floor area of 5000 sq. ft.
Room after room brings out an inventive reinterpretation of elements of Indian luxury, intricate detail, opulent, functional and yet contemporary . The much diminished detail of the CNC cut and bent, sheet brass rafters in the ceiling (which are a facsimile of the exposed wood rafters, a part of every traditional indian home )have been detailed after careful research. The hand cast, stamped and CNC cut, nickel plated brass wall panels and motorized sliding screen along with the brass fins transform the walls to pieces of art.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Identifying these form of art and indigenous craftsmen to deliver the same. These included hand cut glass detail from Kolkata, hand cut mirror mosaic from Jaipur, marquetry of semi precious stones from Agra, marquetry of wood from Mysore, silver and champagne foil work from Jaipur, Ikat textile from Gujarat.
CHALLENGE: Integrating the carefully researched form of Indian craft into the interiors seamlessly, to create the Indian narrative. Then combining the then established flow of material with contemporary pieces and techniques to render the space its individuality.
