| DESIGN NAME: Pool Lounge® PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cover For Hot Tubs, Swim Spas and Pools INSPIRATION: The inspiration for the Pool Lounge came from our customer, who were looking for the following benefits in their Spa cover: Reducing the heating costs; minimal maintenance; protection against contamination; helps to keep children and pets safe. Additionally the Pool Lounge offers a nanotechnology based insulation which reduces maintenance and consumption of resources; visual and cumulative upgrading of the immobile surroundings; heatable rails for a successful slide even at freezing temperature UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Pool Lounge - a fully automated terrace enlargement system with Nano-insulation, heatable rails and impressive design.It is a worldwide unique innovation regarding energy efficiency, comfort and design. The walkable, fully resilient (320kg/m²) and fully automated coverage fits to in ground swimming pools, hot tubs and swims spas. In the counter-sunk, flush-to-floor design, the pool is not visible when it is not in use and the area above the spa offers additional free space for your furnit OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Pool Lounge® promises a yet unimagined operating comfort and extraordinaryenergy efficiency. The Pool Lounge® offers you the freedom to use the entire surface as a resilient lounge. Irrespective of the size of your Hot Tub, Swim Spa or Pool. The Pool Lounge® can be effortlessly moved - both manually or at the touch of a button. The high-quality workmanship means the Pool Lounge® model can replace the conventional insulation of any pool design as these are normally prone to water vapour and water sanitisers. The insulation, which has been newly developed for the Pool Lounge®, is based on scientifically tested nanotechnology coating on the insulating surface. Its stability has been tested and confirmed by the Chair of the Department of Chemistry of Polymeric Materials (University of Leoben) in a long-term study. This unique insulation grants great savings of both energy and costs. The Pool Lounge® ensures an extremely low level of water evaporation. As a result, the addition of water sanitisers is also reduced to a minimum. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project starte in June 2014 in Schärding/Austria and the launch of the Pool Lounge was in July 2015. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Armstark established an unprecedented and effective thermal insulation. The insulation is based on a scientifically developed coating based on nanotechnology, produced in cooperation with Nano GmbH. The coating not only reduces the heating costs of the pool but also makes a considerable contribution to lower water evaporation reducing maintenance and the consumption of resources. The beginnings of this innovative idea were so promising that the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) fully supported its development. The stability and functionality of this innovative development has been inspected and confirmed by the Chair for Chemistry and Polymeric Materials at the University of Leoben. Further used material is stainless steel. CHALLENGE: The Pool Lounge was realized to follow the vision of creating a innovative, sustainable, environmental friendly and consumer friendly spa cover. The hardest part was to develop the on Nanotechnology based isolation..
