DESIGN NAME: Take Off
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wallart
INSPIRATION: The author’s inspiration was to uplift the plain atmosphere of the brownfield, which used to be the area of Zizkova barracks of the city Pisek, Czech Republic. The painting was drafted on the face of the psychiatric hospital Pisek. The building then becomes the ship of hope, which sets sail.
"Sail with ease and feel the power of tranquility at the same time" that is the effort in the author’s statement.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Monumental painting portrays a dynamic movement through the space thanks to 3D effects. The building gets lost in the moving sails, which evoke lightness and independence. White and blue, which are the colors of purity and hope, play their game surrounded by clouds and the sky, which through their changing property always provide a unique look. The painting comes alive and carries away the viewer’s attention.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The point of the wall application for me is general cultivation of the environment. The motive, however, is not just some random or empty decoration and is not counted as Street art. It has its conception, it is designed specifically for the given environment, and it testifies about the environment's character, which is usually hidden behind the walls. TAKE OFF design is focused in two directions. First is directed inside towards the hospital patients, who suddenly don’t bear their destiny only behind the walls, but sail their hopeful journey. The second is directed outside to all, who somehow end up in the environs of the building. A sensitive audience will live through a certain feeling, some kind of expression without words. The audience is uplifted or motivated by what the painting radiates. If the audience is left with something, which they will think about, the piece fulfilled its purpose.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: When working on the project I did not conduct any research nor did I seek inspiration from other resources. I simply worked with the look of the building; I followed my intuition while paying close attention to how to express the leading motif.
CHALLENGE: I have dealt with one of the biggest obstacle right from the beginning of the initial design. The issue was the own wall, whose unity is interrupted by wires over the windows going down in the middle of the wall. It was not an option to cover them, because of security and technical reasons. None of the original designs trumped the wires, that evoke the feeling of a prison. The solution came all by itself, when I stopped viewing the windows as an obstacle. Quite contrary, I have built the whole design concept on them. At once, they became the supporting middle - a pole. The sails have started to wave themselves automatically in harmony with it afterwards.
