| DESIGN NAME: No Signal PRIMARY FUNCTION: Poster INSPIRATION: What inspired me for this concrete project? real li(f)e and the book of George Orwell "1984". Why? Read, please, "project explanation". more motivation: I will do media-installation based on the idea of this poster and I want share my ideas with people. The problem is that I am young unknown creative mind for which is difficult to obtain on the market demand without network, a mind that can not pay for (design, art) education that loves with all heart and looks for a chance on this Award. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: it is more than just a poster. it is a protest. I was born in Ukraine. I live in EU. My family lives in Russia. Every day I comparing two different "worlds" and one of them full of (f)ear, full of control of private li(f)e. In Russia "freedom of speech" means: you can say anything you want, but silently "Private life" means: you can do whatever you want behind closed doors, but for you will spy. I want my family lived in better "world", where there is No Signal for "Big Brother". OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The best interaction is to share the idea with others, and to pay attention on what is going on with freedom of private life in other countries. Silence is not an action in this case. P.S. one unknown to me girl from St.Petersburg accidentally saw my work without any description and asked me if she can print it, and hang on the wall in order to remind to others that they should fight for their privacy. People feel it. And I hope A'Design Award will help to share this important idea more widely. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project concept was born in 2013, when intensified and become tougher regime in Russia and also Edward Snowden published secret documents, and final visual result was done in September 2015. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Expressing my ideas I am trying to use symbolic, playful language, that is why I prefer to express big powerful ideas in a simple, conceptual way. This minimalistic concept I did using Wacom, Adobe Photoshop and my Vision, nothing more. The most important result is shown on Main Visual Image and Optional Image #1, simple, but strong communication, properly expressing my "protest". Optional Images #2 and #3 just an extension, just to show, that concept expands its boundaries. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: in Submission Optimizer Results is written: "Main visual image should preferably have a white background..." and I want to explain why I chose to leave Yellow color of background. It is not important detail, that I could change in order to have better "score", but it is still a detail of my design and Tangerine Yellow was not chosen by chance. From psychology Yellow color sometimes means expression of the desire to be noticed, and actually I want people to pay attention to the main idea. TAGS: No signal, Freedom, Private life, Big Brother, Russian regime, Spying, 1984 RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In this section I just want to make one more time focus on the impact of the development and research of this idea on Real-Life Phenomena such as Society, Community all over the world. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge was to express strong idea in a simple, clear way using double meaning and symbolic minimalistic visual language.
