| DESIGN NAME: Productive Cooperative Union PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mixed use Building INSPIRATION: The building is located close to one of the wonders of the world which is the Great pyramids, so the building was designed to be dismantling to them and transition of civilized and Extension to them. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The building is Mixed use building consists of five levels , Ground & first floor is designed to be the main Entrance of the building and commercial unit , second to fourth floor is designed to be offices, roof floor is designed to be a café and restaurant serving the building users with indoor and outdoor area. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Beside The Building is a reflection of the historical area surrounding it from outside the building is divided into commercial part and administrative part, they are completely separate and connected only with escape stairs and each of them have his own entrance from main façade. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Green architecture has been applied in the building,One of the most important features of the building is all the spaces reached by lighting and natural ventilation by adding a courtyard in the middle of the building. Beside irregular use of glass curtain walls in facades led to the refraction of the sun's rays and enter the desired lighting inside the building. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Plot size :1612 sqm , Total built-up area : 804 sqm , Building height :21.5 meters TAGS: Pyramids, Giza, Egypt, Green architecture, Interior design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As a result of research the building is designed to act as a landmark beside one of the wonders .Using the irrgular triangle curtain walls helps in the implementation of the concept and using the beige stones clading in the facades helps in identify the blocks of the building. CHALLENGE: The location beside the great pyramids is put in consideration , which give the desire to design a building act as a land mark .It was a highly difficult task for several reasons. First of all, its composite function as a mixed use building .Second ,the location .Third ,the implementation of green architecture on it.
