| DESIGN NAME: Contrast PRIMARY FUNCTION: Brooch INSPIRATION: I wanted this brooch to have a futuristic feeling that still felt accessible and appealing to modern sensibilities. The rays represent skyscrapers rising, while the topaz is meant to represent the shape of a person's soul and thought keeping up with city life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As the name of the project suggests, there are many different techniques applied to the different skyscraper "rays." Different rays have been sandblasted and polished, while other rays have inlaid gems to provide unique contrasts in the design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It is an ordinary brooch meant to be worn for more formal occasions, such as banquets and functions. This brooch can also be clasped onto a scarf or pinned onto a woman's handbag as a decoration. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: - |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Everything involved in this project was mostly handmade. After the concept was finished, a handmade wax casting was created to accommodate a silver brooch with inlaid zircon and topaz. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Overall Dimensions: 8.6cm X 9.5cm Gemstone Dimensions: 2.5cm X 1.7cm TAGS: brooch, topaz, silver, zircon, futuristic, unique RESEARCH ABSTRACT: To be completely honest, there wasn't a major research component in the creation of this piece.
