| DESIGN NAME: Todd & Marlon #YOURTIME PRIMARY FUNCTION: Luxury Timepiece INSPIRATION: Todd & Marlon watches are custom made to suit the needs of people who create their own future! “Entrepreneur is not a title but a mindset. It requires a good dose of madness for an incredibly rewarding life” said Vincenzo Carrara, CEO of Todd & Marlon LLC. “Entrepreneurs are amazing people and the most successful ones are master of time management. With YOURTIME watches we wanted to celebrate their work and achievements. YOURTIME is also a call to action for all the ‘want to be’ entrepreneurs" UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Fiery and intense the first Todd & Marlon timepiece is a 24 hour watch and it showcases Italian Design and Swiss Precision. YOURTIME has a Swiss Made movement because of the quality and Quartz for its reliability and accuracy - the watch has a Diamond Like Carbon treatment for a super resistant black matte finish, it showcases the most resistant crystal made of Sapphire and just to make sure every moment is viable the watch is also resistant to water (10atm) OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Entrepreneurs want to seize the day no matter what and a 24 hours dial allows them taking their time and enjoy every moment of the day. Having the entire day at a glance helps better planning and organizing events. This is the reason why YOURTIME is a 24 hour watch. The dial shows the anti-meridian hours on the left hand side and the post-meridian hours on the right hand side. The zenith for the sun is reached at 12:00 and is at the top of the dial as indicated by the applied silver sun icon. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Spring 2015 and the first round of prototypes has been delivered in September 2015. The second round of prototypes is expected beginning January 2016. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: please refer to project description SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: this is a 24 hour watch with a 38mm case and a Swiss made movement TAGS: timepiece, watch, wristwatch, watches, 24 hour RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The first collection of luxury timepieces YOURTIME has been purposely designed by Italians and crafted by Swiss to meet the need of the self-made people and is based on a 24 hours dial. Entrepreneurs want to seize the day no matter what and a 24 hours dial allows them taking their time and enjoying every moment of the day. Having the entire day at a glance also helps better planning and organizing events; perfect for a busy person or someone who wants to live life to the fullest! CHALLENGE: The key challenge was about finding the perfect movement for a 24 hour dial.
