DESIGN NAME: Honeycomb
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bookshelf
INSPIRATION: The inspiration of this work comes from the pure nature, the “Honeycomb”! I called this” Honeycomb” and with books it looks full of honey ! the upper part of the bookshelf is hovering in the air and it secured in place by the wooden sheet in its back and it looks like a “Raw” honeycomb!
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is an Organic bookshelf which designed to store books in a unique and fashion way! The hexagonal cells designed in different sizes to store books in any sizes! small books always looks better in small cells! There is an empty space between the bottom side and the upper part of “honeycombs” which you can place some books or sculptures in it! The smallest hexagon is the center of this bookshelf and all of the books when placed in their cells, will oriented to the center and smallest hexagon which is the heart of the bookshelf !
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This Organic bookshelf made with 3 different part, 1-Upper part 2-Bottom side 3-Back sheet,
they assembled together after the manufacturing.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in March 2015 , in Tehran,Iran

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main research topic about this design was how to find an "Organic" pattern which can be used for a interior office bookshelf, to cover the technical issues and saving the shape and pattern, combining these two factors was the main issue when researching about the idea behind of this project.
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge of this project from the start of destining to the manufacturing was how to make it more usable and how to design a fashion and organic bookshelf with maximum usability, to not changing it patterns and make it more room for books !
