| DESIGN NAME: koinobori toothpaste PRIMARY FUNCTION: Toothpaste For Children INSPIRATION: Children will encounter two problems when using toothpaste independently. First, they may squeeze out the excess of toothpaste, while the fluoride content in toothpaste will hurt the child's body. Second, the extrusion of toothpaste is easy to slide from toothbrush, because the contact area of the toothpaste is too small. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 1.The toothpaste nozzle is designed to be a half circle, it will not only increase the friction area of toothpaste and toothbrush but also reduce the amount of toothpaste. In this way, the design will solve the two problems indicated in INSPIRATION. 2.The shape of the toothpaste tube come from the Japanese traditional image "Koinobori" OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The use of this design is the same as the ordinary toothpaste. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2015 in Japan and finished in March 2015 in China |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: the toothpaste cap is made of silica gel; the pipe of toothpaste is made of plastic material. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: width 50mm * depth 80mm * Radius of toothpaste nozzle 1mm TAGS: cultural, children, toothpaste RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Koinobori, a Japanese carp image, is an item of Japan's traditional festival. On this festival, every family would hang up some flag in the shape of koinobori, with best wishes that children can grow up faster and become more independent. But nowadays, this culture is fading out gradually in the faster developing society. Therefore, we hope to use this design to arouse people's attention to the traditional culture.
